MY REVIEW

This is a short and sweet Christmas story collection featuring four different tales. First, Rachel Best, coffee shop owner and tea cup collector, and Owen Daye, an antique store owner taking over the family business as a single father. The pair are put in a rivalry of miscommunication when they compete at local community sales and antique fairs hunting for fine china for their own prospective reasons. It was easy to read and definitely festive! First, I really enjoyed the writing style and the authors vivid descriptions. It was fun to jump into the setting of Holiday Beach having never read the companion stories. It would be so fun to live at a beach where every holiday becomes such an event! I enjoyed the dynamic of the characters careers overlapping and I loved Owen's family relationships, with both his son and grandfather. I rarely see stories featuring a single dad role! Rachel was a fun main character too and I enjoyed learning about the origin of her love for tea cups. The enemies to lovers plot was definitely short-lived but the romance was still fun. The first story was definitely my favorite but I enjoyed the others too. I would love to see them all expanded further. This book reminded me a lot of the romances I have read in cozy mystery books like the Cape Bay Cafe Mystery series! I can definitely see myself coming back to read the other holiday books in this series to get into the spirit! Overall, this is a cozy holiday story with lots of heart and a sprinkling of romance!
