Today, I decided to start a new thing here on my blog called Random Sunday! Basically, it is where I make a blog post about a random topic, bookish or unbookish, once a week. So this week, let's talk about contemporarys!
Contemporarys are one of my favorite young adult genres. But I hate most of their endings. The whole story leads up to the main characters falling in love, right? It's all sweet and romantic, and sometimes tear worthy. But when they FINALLY get together, the book ends. You shut the book and think, "Why did it have to end?!" All I want is for them to be longer! I want to see what happens while they are together. I want all cute couple spats. But no! It's over.
Now if your still reading this after my rant, let me name a few of my favorites.
1. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. I LOVE this book with all of my heart.
2. Anything Stephanie Perkins. No explanation needed.
3. John Green novels. I haven't read Paper Towns yet. I've heard mixed things about it. Do you recommend it?
4. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell ( why haven't I read Eleanor and Park? Good question.)
5. The Summer I turned Pretty Trilogy. These books are extremely fast reads.
I'm a real sucker for love stories. I love them all! Even some of the cheesy ones. Thanks for tuning in for this Random Sunday! Comment below and let me know your thoughts on contemporarys, and your favorites. Also, prepare for a trilogy review on The Darkest Minds as I am halfway through In The Afterlight!
