My 2018 in Books So Far...

Hello booklovers! I decided that a wrap up of what I have read in 2018 so far would be a great way to jump back into my blog! This year started out as amazing reading year for me already. While towards the end of February I did start to dwindle off some with reading, I am still happy with what I have accomplished so far! So without further ado...

JANUARY

Through the Woods by Emily Carroll #1- Through the Woods by Emily Carroll

I started off 2018 with some Graphic Novels. This one was so interesting and unique. Some of the stories gave me chills! I couldn't stop reading. IT was just the right amount of creepy and beautiful. The art was so amazing and I absolutely loved the color schemes.

#2- Maus: A Survivor's Tale Vol. 1 by Art Spiegelman

Another Graphic Novel...This book was different because of the parallel time lines. The son is writing the story of his fathers life in the Holocaust as he tells it. I love history so I knew I would love this. The art was very different from any other graphic novel I have read.

I had to read this book for my AP Language class and I am so glad I did. It was such a powerful story about the Korean War. It felt like I stepped into the book and was really there. Again, my love for history really made this book stand out for me. I think everyone should read this novel and hear the stories it tells.

#4 and #5 Sea Of Monsters & The Titans Curse by Rick Riordan
The Sea of Monsters (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #2)   The Titan's Curse (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #3)
I Finally decided to pick back up reading the Percy Jackson series after reading the first book all the way back in 5th grade and it was just amazing as I remembered it. These are like my sisters favorite books of all time so she will never be satisfied until I have read all of the books.

Cruel Beauty (Cruel Beauty Universe, #1)#6 Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge

So... its been over a month since I  read this book and I still do not know what to think about it. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it but I am still thinking about the ending. I have definitely read nothing like it before. I mean it was an experience for sure.

February

#7 and #8 The Dark Days Club And The Dark Days Pact by Allison Goodman
The Dark Days Club (Lady Helen, #1)The Dark Days Pact (Lady Helen, #2)
I LOVED THESE BOOKS!!!!!! Seriously amazing. Definitely my favorite books of 2018 so far. I love the world and the "magic" system. The characters were incredible too. I still cannot stop thinking about Lord Carlston and the chemistry between him and the main character.

This is another one of my favorite reads. I loved reading about the forensic science in the time period. Not to mention Thomas and Audrey Rose were literally killing me with angst (in a good way!) It was the perfect combination of mystery, history, science, and romance.

REREADS: In Preparation for the release of Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi I reread The Shatter ME Series w/ novellas of course.

I cannot wait to see what else 2018 has in store for me (especially in /may when ACOFAS releases and my death arrives ). Let me know your favorite book of 2018 so far!
